One of Uzbekistan’s largest mobile operators has completed the first stage of implementing the Nexign Converged BSS and started trials of plans for loyal subscribers.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan – St. Petersburg, Russia – August 5, 2021: Nexign (a part of ICS Holding LLC), a leading Business Support System (BSS) provider, announced today that the first stage of implementing the Nexign Converged BSS for Ucell, one of Uzbekistan’s largest mobile operators, has been completed. Ucell has begun pilot operation of the new system.
The project launch was announced in November 2020. Nexign faced the task of replacing the old Ucell billing system and ensuring harmonisation of all of the operator’s key business processes. This goal was achieved, and all Ucell subscribers' data will be shortly transferred to the new platform.
‘Despite the pandemic, all the work is being carried out according to schedule’, says Sergey Melnikov, Ucell’s Deputy General Director for Technical Issues. ‘Changing the BSS platform has made it possible to unify and modernise our IT landscape. Now we are getting down to tackling business tasks. Having reduced the time to market, we will be able to expand our subscriber base both as a result of reducing customer outflow and increasing the number of new users.’
‘Unlike many other countries, Uzbekistan’s mobile communications market is rapidly developing’, says Dmitry Antipov, Nexign’s Chief Customer Officer. ‘But these days subscribers are more and more demanding, and we are glad that Nexign’s expertise and knowledge will help Ucell strengthen its position.’
