Nexign’s statement on GSMA’s Official Cancellation of Mobile World Congress 2020
Nexign, a Business Support System (BSS) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider for communications service providers (CSPs), today announced that due to GSMA’s official cancellation of Mobile World Congress, the company will reconsider the format of the activities it had planned for the Barcelona event. Following high demand for Nexign’s solutions from CSPs, the company remains committed to its scheduled arrangements with customers, partners, the media and analysts, and intends to hold product demos and other business appointments as planned, although in alternative formats.
“We are extremely understanding and supportive of GSMA’s final decision to cancel Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year due to the coronavirus issue,” said Igor Gorkov, CEO at Nexign. ‘’We have been carefully following the situation and considered several scenarios which would have enabled us to limit the company’s presence at the event, as the health of its employees, customers, and partners is of paramount importance to Nexign. GSMA’s position has proved that people are at the heart of every business and that their safety is a top priority for the industry in general. We are confident that mitigating potential risks are the best option that our community could choose.”
Nexign has traditionally had a strong presence at Mobile World Congress over the last 10 years. Since the new corporate strategy, focused on international expansion, and rebranding was announced in 2018, attendance at MWC has also been important for brand awareness and to solidify the company’s position in the international market.
Nexign’s expert insight talk and panel discussion Emerging technologies: ride the wave, focusing on evolving trends such as 5G availability and eSIM adoption, was also due to take place on February 26th at MWC 2020. This event will now be rescheduled. All registered attendees will receive updates on the new date and format.
