Nexign Enables Uzbektelecom to Modernize BSS and Increase ARPU by 10%
Uzbektelecom seamlessly replaced five separate business support systems with one unified platform, Nexign Converged BSS. The digital transformation empowered the company to balance operational excellence with improved revenue generation strategies. As a result, the telecom operator reduced time to market from two months to two weeks and enriched its customer base with 1.6 million new subscribers year-over-year. On top of that, the implementation of the new platform enabled Uzbektelecom to reach more than 8 million subscribers in all segments and increase its mobile subscriber base to 6 million users.
Uzbektelecom is the leading telecommunications company in Uzbekistan that offers mobile and fixed network services and broadband internet access.
Despite leading positions in the domestic market, Uzbektelecom was looking to enhance operational performance, which was affected by the use of five separate billing systems. The harmonization of business processes onto a single platform would ensure a competitive time to market, expand the subscriber base, optimize BSS maintenance costs, and improve the customer experience.
Uzbektelecom selected Nexign Converged BSS, which included the Nexign Network Monetization Suite's online charging and policy control products. The telecom operator highlighted competitive advantages of the Nexign solution, such as CRM with centralized access to all customer data, the ability to self-govern the new BSS without the vendor’s assistance, and fast implementation of the pilot project.
The BSS transformation took less than two years. In phase one, Nexign deployed the new billing system while migrating the mobile subscribers, whereas phase two focused on migration of fixed and broadband subscribers. Over six million customers were seamlessly migrated without any system downtime.
